ABSTRACT:The Darfur crisis that led to one of the gravest political and humanitarian crisis in Sudan between 2000-09 had been found itself into a huge controversy on the trial of the then Sudanese President Omar al Bashir. The role of the International Criminal Court using the judicial procedures of international laws failed to formulate a political consensus and also failed to achieve its desired role. This paper is an critical assessment of the role of International Criminal Court in the Darfur crisis and the response from Sudan and lastly the impact and outcome as a humanitarian crisis. The paper based its argument on the legal and political dimensions.
