TITLE :EMPOWERMENT OF WOMEN IN RURAL AREA, A STUDY BASED ON THE KHONGIA GOAN, JORHAT DISTRICT, ASSAM

ABSTRACT:Women empowerment can be defined as emancipations of women from the vicious grips of social, economical, political, caste and gender based discrimination. It means granting women the freedom to make life choices. Women economic empowerment refers to the ability for women to enjoy their right to control and benefit from resources. It also improves their economic status and wellbeing. The economically empower women giving them the confidence they need to tackle gender inequalities. After women in developing nations and un-development are legally restricted from their land, own the sole basis of gender. Improving education for women helps raise their levels of health and nutrition and reduces fertility rates. Education increases people’s self-confidence, enables them to find better job, engage in public debate, and makes demands on government for health care, social security and other entitlements. Empowerment of women has emerged as an important issue in recent times. Women’s empower has become a significant topic of discussion in development and economics. It can also point to the approaches regarding other trivialized genders in a particular political or social context.
