TITLE :FINANCIAL ESTIMATION TO HAVE KNOWLEDGE MANAGEMENT IN A LIBRARY: A CHALLENGING TASK FOR LIBRARY AND INFORMATION MANAGERS

ABSTRACT:Knowledge management has emerged as a powerful tool for acquisition, amalgamation and financial estimation of a library. The success of a library largely depends on continual investment in learning and acquiring new knowledge that creates an atmosphere for managing knowledge with financial view. Knowledge management systems are set of tools and databases used for managing the knowledge. It stores, updates, manages and presents the knowledge that is created. Knowledge management is very important in present libraries because it is cost saving and ensures improved performance. Some of the possibilities of knowledge management with a view of financial management bring improved productivity, creation of continuous learning environment and cost effective utilization of resources. This study deals with the financial estimation of Libraries for having knowledge management and application of scientific management in such a way that the fruitful results can be achieved because no libraries are spending organizations. Unless they spend scientifically they cannot grow as fast as the organization demands. Financial measurement and knowledge management are important aspects of this study.
