TITLE :A STUDY OF JOB SATISFACTION AMONG LIBRARY PROFESSIONALS

ABSTRACT:Job satisfaction is a set of favorable or unfavorable feelings and emotions with which employees view their work. Job satisfaction is an important issue for every organization as satisfied and happy employees are considered more productive. Library is a service organisation and job satisfaction among library staff is vital issue for a university library as it is related to delivery of service. Job satisfaction of library professionals is associated to users’ satisfaction also. A satisfied library professional not only renders quality service to the users but also ensures commitment to the library in which he or she works and make continuous efforts to achieve its goals. The present study intends to find the level of job satisfaction among the 138 library professionals working in the university libraries of four states of the India i.e. Chandigarh, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Punjab
